Mardi Gras 2012: Lots of People and Lots of Party Favors

According to television programming and residents of New Orleans, Mardi Gras 2012 is seen as a weeklong party leading up to Fat Tuesday. From toddlers to the elderly, everyone tries to get in on the festivities because they are out of school and off from work, at least for a few days. Men, women and families come from around the world to New Orleans in hopes of finding from a great vacation spot to celebrate carnival this year. Too many men and women feel cramped up all winter long, so when the trumpets blowing, the king cakes are baking, and the second line is marching, its time to find a place to celebrate Mardi Gras 2012 and stay for a while. Yet, Africa, Europe, South America and the Caribbean also have their parties, parades and plenty of food where people fill the streets at these various celebrations.

Planning a trip, with or without travel agent assistance, begins with knowing what you are looking for in your Mardi Gras 2012 experience. If you want to stay in North America and drive or take a train to your destination, there are plenty of cities throughout the southern region to accommodate, or you can travel up to Canada in Quebec City. No matter where you choose to go, there are carnival celebrations in the streets this year in mid February and their will be reminders left on the streets in the wake of the music, dancing and all around good time.

However, environmentalist have been complaining for quite some time about the excessive amount of beads, cups, streamers, plastic toys and other debris that’€™s left in the wake of all of the celebration. It is important to protect the environment and preserve tradition at the same time. In New Orleans there are bead collecting and recycling each year, so no one has to stop yelling “throw me something mister!”
